In partnership with The Chabot Theater (The San Francisco Chronicle’s 2025 Best Movie Theater in the Bay Area), we’re bringing back the Secret Screen Takeover. This February, we’re screening Scott Pilgrim vs. The World—with a live band performing songs from the film before the movie starts.
Synopsis:
83% on Rotten Tomatoes — Scott Pilgrim (Michael Cera) is a bass guitarist in a Toronto garage band who’s never had much trouble dating—until Ramona Flowers (Mary Elizabeth Winstead) rolls into his life. To be with her, Scott must battle her seven evil exes, each more unhinged than the last. Directed by Edgar Wright, this cult classic features an all-star cast including Michael Cera, Kieran Culkin, Mary Elizabeth Winstead, Anna Kendrick, Aubrey Plaza, Chris Evans, Jason Schwartzman, Alison Pill, and Brie Larson, with original music by Beck, Broken Social Scene, Metric, and more.
“It’s heartfelt, hilarious, and a highly satisfying adaptation of the book. You don’t have to be a geek to adore it; you just have to remember being young.” — Empire Magazine
